DAESH Baghdad Attacks Follow Turkish Defense Minister`s Iraq Visit

We strongly condemn the brutal attack that was carried out in Iraq`s capital Baghdad on January 21. May those killed in this attack rest in peace. We also wish all the wounded a quick recovery and extend our deep condolences to those who have lost their loved ones and to the Iraqi people.

It is obvious that with this brutal attack and massacre the DAESH thugs aim at obstructing the common, free and democratic life of the Iraqi people. DAESH does not only represent a great threat to the Iraqi people, but also to the democratic unity and freedom of all peoples. DAESH was defeated and its willpower was crushed by the common struggle of the peoples of the Middle East, especially of the Kurds and Arabs. The fascist AKP-MHP rule and certain other regional forces attempt to reactivate DAESH in the region. It is alarming that this last DAESH attack was carried out shortly after the Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and the Turkish Chief of Staff visited Baghdad. The terrible attack in Baghdad cannot be understood without taking into account the dirty plans of those forces that support DAESH. Nevertheless, the common struggle of the peoples will defeat these kinds of attacks that aim at destroying the people`s democratic unity.

Hereby, on behalf of our Freedom Movement and the Kurdish people we share the pain of the Iraqi people and express our strong solidarity.
